With recent upgrades to the LDS Maps Web site, online searches for Church meetinghouses can now be conducted in 16 languages.
The capability to search for Church congregations worldwide in 15 additional languages went live on the maps.lds.org site Dec. 22; before then, meetinghouse searches could be conducted only in English.
Last August, the LDS Maps website replaced the Church's initial online Meetinghouse Locator. The launch of LDS Maps introduced many new features not previously available, including:
— Worldwide searches for any congregation — not just searches in Canada and the United States, as was the case with the old Meetinghouse Locator.
— One-click accessibility to satellite photos for any meetinghouse in the world via Google Maps and Microsoft Maps, the two map browsers for LDS Maps.
— Listings for singles wards and language specialty congregations, such as wards for members who are deaf or hearing impaired.
— Support for mobile devices with Internet capability, such as PDAs and cell phones.
